Local Government Prevention Capacity and Infrastructure Survey
Local Government Prevention Capacity and Infrastructure Survey – Additional Reports and Resources
In October 2019, councils across Australia were invited to participate in the Alcohol and Drug Foundation’s Planet Youth Local Government Prevention Capacity and Infrastructure Survey (the PCI Survey).
The PCI Survey measured each council’s prevention capacity and infrastructure along with its readiness for the implementation of long-term and sustainable ATOD prevention work.
Following data analysis by Planet Youth’s prevention experts, each council has been provided with a personalised rating of their current prevention capacity and infrastructure and their readiness to undertake ATOD prevention work.
These reports are designed to support councils to understand the strength of key characteristics of successful prevention efforts in their area and identify potential opportunities for action.
The support documents, available below, explain the methodology and evidence-base utilised for the Planet Youth model (Technical Paper) as well as the rationale for the ‘Opportunities for Action’ included in the council reports (Rationale for Opportunities for Action).
