Stigma posters
This series of downloadable posters aims to encourage supportive conversations around alcohol and other drug use and dependence. Because, when people feel less stigmatised, they find it easier to talk openly and get the support they need.
The fact is alcohol and other drug dependence are some of the most stigmatised health conditions globally.
Stigma can prevent people from seeking help or delay them from getting help until their needs are critical.
But, by using – and encouraging - welcoming, inclusive and person-centred language in everyday conversations, you can reduce the impact of stigma.
We also know that supportive and non-judgmental relationships have a positive effect on the health of people who use drugs or are experiencing dependence.
The more people help to reduce stigma, the bigger the impact.
